UFC veteran Mike Swick has announced his retirement from the sport after his comeback at UFC 189 last weekend didn’t go according to plan, losing by unanimous decision to Alex Garcia.
Swick had been returning to the Octagon after a two and a half year absence and had only fought three times in the past five years due to ongoing issues with his esophagus which had left him unable to eat properly and struggling to maintain his weight.
The 36 year-old has finally got his health back after surgery, but it’s tough to make up for all that lost time and so he’s come conclusion that now is the right time to hang up his gloves for good.
