Welterweight Mike Perry proved a lot of doubters wrong on Saturday night with his unanimous decision win over Mickey Gall. As he now moves forward in his career with Latory Gonzalez being the lone person in his corner during fights, he also has other plans outside of the 170-pound division.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto asked Perry during a post-fight interview if he would consider training with the Diaz brothers in California because they share a “similar philosophy.” Perry says he is open to working with others, but for a different motive.
“I kind of want to work with Yoel Romero,” he said.
