There was a little added animosity between Mike Perry and Donald Cerrone heading into their co-headlining bout at UFC Fight Night 139 in Denver.
That bad blood stemmed from Cerrone’s split with Jackson-Wink MMA in Albuquerque, N.M. “Cowboy” didn’t have much positive to say about head striking coach Mike Winkeljohn while revealing that his longtime camp picked Perry over him.
That led to some interesting pre-fight buildup — mostly on Perry’s end as Cerrone remained largely indifferent. However, fight night belonged to Cerrone, as he reversed into top position after being taken down before eventually transitioning to an armbar.
