After a first round that saw Michael Chandler control the action with superior striking and grappling, things were looking up for David Rickels in round two at Bellator 145.
And then Chandler landed the shot in the video above.
A monstrous right hand put Rickels on wobbly legs, and the finish was near. After a brief scuffle, Chandler sealed the deal with some ground-and-pound that forced the referee to intervene. For his efforts, Chandler secured his second victory in as many tries over Rickels, each via knockout.
After the victory, the former Bellator lightweight champ Chandler said he'd like to face the winner of the night's co-main event between champ Will Brooks and challenger Marcin Held.
