Melvin Guillard tests positive for non-PED banned substance, suspended one year and fined $10,000

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) standout Melvin Guillard can't seem to get it right as a member of the Bellator MMA team. After beginning his promotional stint with back-to-back loses, "The Young Assassin" recorded a blistering first-round knockout win over Dave Rickels at Bellator 159.

However, Guillard has just been suspended for one year and fined $10,000 by the Kansas Athletic Commission for testing positive for a non-PED banned substance during competition for Bellator 159. The KAC stated that the substance was not of the performance-enhancing kind and that the exact substance cannot be specified at this time.
