Conor McGregor, or "Mystic Mac," predicted that Jose Aldo would pull out of their featherweight showdown at UFC 189 in 2014. "I could see Jose pulling [out]. But I could see Frankie stepping in," McGregor said last year.
"The Notorious" and "Scarface" were originally set the headline the Las Vegas event in July, but Aldo pulled out of the bout after suffering a rib injury in training. Chad Mendes stepped in as a last minute replacement and battled with the Irishman for the interim featherweight title. McGregor TKO'd "Money" in the dying stages of the 2nd round and accused Aldo of running scared in the post-fight interview.
