A press release from Showtime confirmed Mayweather vs. Pacquiao was the biggest pay-per-view of all-time.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao is officially set in stone as boxing's biggest ever fight and the highest grossing pay-per-view in history. A Showtime press release revealed that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao generated more than 4.4 million buys, which nearly doubles the previous record of 2.4 million for Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya back in 2007. More than $400 million in revenue was also pulled in just on PPV buys alone. Add that to the $71 million live gate at the MGM Grand on May 2nd for Mayweather's decision win over Pacquiao and you've got yourself boxing's all-time richest fight.
