Bellator MMA’s final event of 2022 ended with a bang, as two championships were up for grabs on Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
In the Bellator 289 main event, interim bantamweight champion Raufeon Stots risked his title against Danny Sabatello in a grand prix semifinal. Stots entered the cage on a 10-fight winning streak and with only one loss on his ledger, having been defeated by Merab Dvalishvili back in 2017. Sabatello, on the other hand, had rattled off seven straight victories since he suffered his lone career setback to Irwin Rivera in 2019.
