Late Tuesday night, the UFC announced a heavyweight scrap between Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem for UFC 209. While Hunt has verbally agreed to the rematch, he’s still waiting to receive the bout agreement containing specific wording writen in the bold print.
After three of his past seven opponents flunked their post-fight drug tests for performance-enhancing drugs, Hunt is demanding the UFC include a clause in his contract that will grant him 100 percent of his opponent’s purse – show and win money – if they subsequently test positive for any banned substances.
“My clause will protect me in this instance and take the financial gain of the opponent of caught cheating,” Hunt said on his official website.
