The 41-year-old powerhouse striker has mastered the art of the one-shot stopper, most recently finishing Frank Mir with a single blow Saturday at UFC Fight Night 85 in Brisbane, Australia.
To some, the stoppage appeared premature. But Hunt saw something different that signaled the end.
"Frank, he was still in the dark lands when I saw him [after landing the punch]," Hunt said during the post-fight press conference. "His face was still...he wasn't there, so I just left it. He wasn't there. He was out, somewhere else."
After some laughter from those in attendance, Hunt elaborated on his original statement.
