Marcos Galvao: Loss to Eduardo Dantas taught me to forget emotions, listen to corner

In his return to the cage after losing the Bellator bantamweight championship, Marcos Galvao uses the lessons learned in his toughest defeat.

“Loro” earned his first championship in more than a decade in the sport with an impressive second-round submission over Joe Warren in 2015, but saw his title go away in his first defense, versus Eduardo Dantas.

Dantas was a former teammate at Nova Uniao, and emotions were high the first time they fought, in 2013, when Galvao was the champion. They switched positions in the rematch, but “Dudu” was left victorious once again.

“What I learned the most with that loss is to listen to my corner and do what I know best,” Galvao told MMA Fighting.
