Manny Pacquiao (58-7-2, 39 KOs) was the heavy favorite heading into his WBO welterweight title defense against Australia’s Jeff Horn (17-0-1, 11 KOs), but the local guy became a national hero with a stunning upset win over Pac-man in front of a boisterous crowd at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The scorecards read 117-111, 115-113, and 115-113 all for Horn, who statistically landed far fewer punches than Pacquiao, who was statistically more accurate. Of course, CompuBox isn’t necessarily always dead-on accurate with its punch-tracking. It was a very compelling, entertaining, often times ugly fight, and the decision will be hotly debated.
