Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he is coming out of retirement to face WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas on November 5th.
Last April 9th, eight-division world boxing champion turned Philippine senator, Manny Pacquiao announced his retirement from the sport. However, it is seemingly bound to be a short-lived one.
A bout against reigning WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas was mentioned by his manager earlier in the month. Today, Sen. Pacquiao himself has confirmed this return date for November 5th.
"Yes, the fight is on. I have agreed to a November 5 fight with reigning WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas," Pacquiao said after meeting with promoter Bob Arum in Manila on Tuesday.
