Manager: UFC won’t risk throwing Conor McGregor in on a weeks’ notice for UFC 223

After Tony Ferguson pulled out of UFC 223 with just six weeks before fight night due to a “freak injury”, he was immediately replaced by Max Holloway. These turn of events have also consequently put the spotlight on Conor McGregor, who has not stepped inside the UFC Octagon since November 2016.

According to UFC president Dana White, they did not want to throw McGregor in as a replacement because they would “want to have the right amount of time” to promote the fight. But according to McGregor’s manager Audie Attar, it is more of a business-related reason, which makes more sense.
