The vacant M-1 Challenge welterweight title is up for grabs and after several weeks of grueling work in the gym, the two men vying for the belt have cleared the final hurdle to fight for it. Both Marcelo Brito and Mural Abdulaev tipped the scales below the 170-pound limit, making the championship clash official.
Brazil’s Brito climbed on the scale and clocked in at 169.5 pounds. Russian Abdulaev mimicked him and weighed in the same, setting the tone for what should be a solid M-1 Challenge card from top to bottom.
The featured heavyweight attraction between Belarus’ Alexi Kudin and Baga Abaev will still be held, but Kudin was unable to weigh in.
