A pivotal women’s flyweight bout is in the works for UFC San Antonio.
Liz Carmouche is expected to meet Roxanne Modafferi at the July 20 event, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported Tuesday.
Carmouche, the No. 3 flyweight, is riding a two-fight winning streak. In her last fight, she defeated Lucie Pudilova at UFC Prague in February. Carmouche holds notable wins over Katlyn Chookagian and Lauren Murphy.
Modafferi, the No. 5 flyweight, is coming off an upset win over top prospect Antonina Shevchenko, the sister of flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, at UFC St. Petersburg last month.
