The next chapter in Melvin Guillard's up-and-down career will take place inside of a Bellator cage. The promotion announced that the veteran lightweight had inked a multi-fight, multi-year contract with them in a press release earlier today. He doesn't have an opponent set as of yet. Bellator CEO Scott Coker commented on the signing in the release:
"We are excited to have Melvin coming onboard. With competitors the likes of Lightweight Champion Will Brooks, Michael Chandler, Marcin Held, Derek Anderson, Saad Awad, Dave Jansen and Patricky Pitbull on the roster already, the matchup possibilities for an exciting fighter like him are endless.
