Just one week after becoming a two-division interim titlist for Legacy Fighting Alliance, Casey Kenney will get his call-up to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced Monday that Kenney will replace Kyer Phillips and meet Ray Borg in a bantamweight bout at UFC on ESPN 2 this Saturday. A reason for Phillips’ withdrawal was not given.
Kenney claimed the interim bantamweight crown at LFA 62, knocking out Vince Cachero with a knee 1:38 into the opening round of their March 22 encounter. That was the fourth victory in a row for the 28-year-old Tucson, Ariz.
