Derrick Lewis compiled a four-fight win streak on Saturday by knocking out fellow top five contender Curtis Blaydes inside two rounds. “The Black Beast” landed a right uppercut that put Blaydes to sleep, then followed it up with two more right hand bombs before Herb Dean stepped in to call the fight.
Some may deem those two extra shots to be unnecessary. But for Lewis, he was just doing his job.
“I can’t just turn the switch off just like that. I know some fighters could do that, but I can’t,” Lewis told the media during the UFC Vegas 19 post-fight presser.
