2020 has not been a kind year to No. 3 ranked UFC welterweight contender Leon Edwards.
From losing a scheduled main event slot against former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in March to being temporarily removed from the UFC rankings because of inactivity, Edwards has surely been through a lot in such a short period of time. His bad luck seemed to be turning around after he returned to the rankings following his acceptance of a fight against fast-rising prospect, Khamzat Chimaev for the main event of UFC Vegas 17, but that has since taken a turn for the worst.
