An injury has forced Lenny Wheeler out of his January 23 title fight with Sabah Fadai. Lucky enough for Fadai, an opponent has stepped up to compete for the Z Promotions featherweight championship — former UFC fighter Marcus Brimage.
Brimage (7-5) will step inside the cage for the first time since being released from the UFC. “The Bama Beast” went 3-1 before his stint on The Ultimate Fighter and went 4-4 under the UFC banner. Most recently Brimage is coming off a loss to Jimmy Rivera at UFC Fight Night 72 in July 2015.
Fadai (11-4, 1NC) last fought in May at Unified MMA 23, where he earned that organizations 145-pound gold by beating Parwez Ghulam by second round TKO.
