Latest UFC rankings update: Anderson Silva removal leads to middleweight, pound-for-pound shake up

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently updated its official fighter rankings following the FOX Sports 1 action at UFC Fight Night 74: "Holloway vs. Oliveira," which took place last Sun. night (Aug. 23, 2015) inside SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Canada.

But that's not the big story in this week's rankings shake up.

Former middleweight champion Anderson Silva was recently suspended from mixed martial arts (MMA) and as a result, will no longer be eligible to be ranked at either middleweight or pound-for-pound. Bad news for "The Spider," but great news for the rest of the 185-pound competition.
