Things looked grim for Anderson Silva after Jared Cannonier sent the Brazilian collapsing to the canvas with a kick to the right knee in the UFC 237 co-headliner.
While the blow did result in a technical knockout defeat, multiple outlets have confirmed with Silva’s team that “The Spider” will not require knee surgery. MMAFighting.com was first to report that Silva did not suffer any ligament damage and will only need physical therapy before he resumes training.
Silva’s camp told ESPN.com that the fighter had suffered from right leg pain during fight week and considering receiving an injection to relieve the pain.
