On Thursday, GLORY announced that it was stripping Gokhan ‘The Rebel’ Saki of the World Light-Heavyweight Championship due to inactivity. The same day, Bellator MMA announced - and GLORY confirmed - that Saulo ‘Cassius Clay’ Cavalari and Zack ‘The Black Warrior’ Mwekassa would contest the vacant belt at ‘Bellator MMA: Dynamite’ on Saturday September 18.
Saki went mental. Describing the pair as "B-level" fighters, he took to social media to complain about having his title belt removed and to complain about the Mwekassa/Cavalari match. Mwekassa read his comments and responded in robust fashion, leading to a Twitter war between the two which went on for much of Thursday evening, Saki posting from his base in Istanbul, Turkey and Mwekassa firing shots from Johannesburg, South Africa.
