After winning fights at welterweight and middleweight in the UFC, breakout star Khamzat Chimaev isn’t ruling out a move to 205-pounds.
Chimaev (9-0) set the record for last year for the fastest time between UFC wins, picking up two victories in just 10 days. Three decisive wins in 2020 against John Philips, Rhys McKee and Gerald Meerschaert led to Chimaev being booked to fight top welterweight contender Leon Edwards. That fight fell through on three occasions due to both fighters suffering from COVID-19.
After overcoming a battle with lingering symptoms of COVID that placed doubts on his fighting future, Chimaev is eager to return to the cage at whatever weight class.
