UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov confirmed his plans to return to fighting and that he will likely be fit to compete at UFC 196 on Super Bowl weekend.
Several weeks ago, Khabib Nurmagomedov was once again forced to withdraw from a scheduled bout following another injury suffered during training camp. Unlike his previous two knee injures, this one was a broken rib.
In the immediate aftermath of the injury, which cost him a main event slot against Tony Ferguson to determine the next title challenger, the UFC lightweight suggested that retirement could be in his future.
