While Khabib Nurmagomedov may have hinted at a career in politics over the past few months, it was his father, Abdulmanap, who accepted a government role in Dagestan.
Earlier this week, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov became the assistant to the Head of Dagestan, Vladimir Vasilyev. The announcement took place at a ceremony on Monday, where Vasilyev handed out certificates to Nurmagomedov, as well as to Zaur Alisultanov, a 27-year-old professor at the Dagestan State University.
Nurmagomedov, a master of sports of the USSR in freestyle wrestling, is one of the most sought after combat sports coaches in the Russian Federation.
