Khabib Nurmagomedov apologizes after UFC 229 brawl, doesn’t ‘understand’ fuss of him leaving Octagon

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov says he’s sorry for the post-fight fracas following his UFC 229 victory over Conor McGregor on Saturday night.

“I want to say sorry to the athletic commission,” Nurmagomedov said at the UFC 229 post-fight news conference. “Sorry to Vegas. I know this is not my best side. This is not my best side. I am a human being.”

But the undefeated Dagestani also said he’s not sure what all the fuss is about.

Nurmagomedov started the near-riot at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas when he jumped out of the cage following his fourth-round submission win over McGregor in the evening’s main event, in order to start a fracas with McGregor’s teammate, Dillon Danis.
