When Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Andre Berto square off on Sept. 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, they’ll be joined by a familiar face.
The Nevada Athletic Commission on Thursday revealed that it has appointed veteran boxing referee Kenny Bayless to oversee Sept. 12’s contest. The 65-year-old has governed six previous Mayweather fights, including the pound-for-pound kingpin’s professional debut in 1996. Additionally, it will be the third consecutive “Money” fight that Bayless is charged with handling.
The NAC also named the bout’s official judges Thursday morning, tabbing Steve Weisfeld, Adalaide Byrd and Dave Moretti for ringside duty.
