In a back-and-forth battle, American welterweight Errol Spence Jr. (22-0, 19 KOs) pulled away late and stopped a very brave but battered Kell Brook (36-2, 25 KOs) in front of 27,000 people at Brammall Lane in Sheffield, England. Spence is now the IBF Welterweight champion, having won the title in enemy territory. Spence dropped Brook in round 10 with a flurry of punches, but Brook valiantly fought back. The damage to his left eye was too much to handle, however, and the fight was stopped in the 11th, to the dismay of the partisan crowd.
