The UFC is getting to work on its May pay-per-view, and one of the key bouts on the card is expected to be in the women’s flyweight division.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported Wednesday that a matchup between former title challenger Katlyn Chookagian and rising Brazilian contender Viviane Araujo is being finalized for May 15th. MMA Junkie noted that date is being labeled as UFC 262.
Chookagian (15-4) took on champion Valentina Shevchenko last February, losing by third-round TKO in a rather predictably one-sided fight. No worries for “Blonde Fighter,” as she dispatched Valentina’s sister Antonina by unanimous decision in her next fight.
