One might think Kamaru Usman would have an issue after hearing Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White announce that outspoken former interim champion Colby Covington would be next to challenge for Tyron Woodley’s welterweight belt, but he professes not to be bothered by the news.
The undefeated Nigerian-American contender was officially asked by the UFC to be a standby opponent for last weekend’s main event at UFC 228 between Woodley and Darren Till due to concerns Till would not make weight. Despite those issues, Till weighed in at 169 pounds and Usman -- who cut weight as well in preparation -- was not required on the night.
