Justin Gaethje picked up a much-needed opening round KO win vs. James Vick in last Saturday’s UFC Lincoln main event. It snapped a two-fight losing skid, and put him right back in the mix of lightweight contenders.
The former WSOF champion began his UFC career on a $100,000/$100,000 contract, later bumped to $110,000/$110,000 as recently as his loss to Dustin Poirier. It’s unknown what his fight purse was against Vick, but it’s likely that he’s still on the base salary/win bonus structure.
At the UFC Lincoln post-fight scrum, Gaethje indicated that he’d like to be rid of the win bonus.
