Streaking UFC lightweight contender Justin Gaethje is still very much interested in a fight with Conor McGregor, as ‘The Highlight’ revealed that he sent a direct message to ‘The Notorious’ pleading for a fight in Ireland.
Gaethje posted a screenshot of the message on Twitter, which dates back March 31, 2019.
“I’ve been waiting for a reply,” Gaethje posted on Tuesday.
Gaethje, the former WSOF lightweight champion, is on a three-fight KO streak, notching first-round stoppage wins over James Vick, Edson Barboza and most recently Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone. Following his knockout win over Cerrone this past Saturday, the NCAA Division I wrestler called out McGregor at the UFC Fight Night 158 post-fight press conference, telling reporters at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena that he would ‘love’ to fight the former featherweight and lightweight champion.
