Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is up to his old tricks.
Chavez Jr. missed weight for his scheduled boxing match against UFC legend Anderson Silva, tipping the scales at 184.4 pounds for the 182-pound bout at Friday’s weigh-ins, which took place in Guadalajara, Mexico. MMA Fighting confirmed the news.
As a result, Chavez Jr. will forfeit $100,000 of his purse to Silva, who successfully hit the 182-pound limit. Fight Hub TV first reported the miss.
“I’ve been a combat sports professional for over 20 years,” Silva wrote on Instagram. “I’ve always accomplished my duties inside and outside of the ring.
