Julianna Pena wants to make it a best-of-three series with Amanda Nunes.
“The Venezuelan Vixen” recently took to Instagram to angle for a trilogy bout with the reigning two-division champion. Pena relinquished the bantamweight crown to Nunes in a five-round verdict at UFC 277 on July 30 after upsetting the Brazilian via second-round submission in their first meeting at UFC 269.
“Everyone keeps asking me what’s next…. I’m getting my belt back that’s what’s next!” Pena wrote. “A trilogy with [Amanda Nunes] is the fight to make.”
Nunes saw a 12-fight winning streak come to an end at UFC 269, when she brawled with Pena and fatigued when she was unable to secure the knockout, allowing her opponent to spring the massive upset with a rear-naked choke in Round 2.
