Jose Torres might soon outgrow his regional surroundings.
The hard-charging prospect remained undefeated and did so in style, as he disposed of Pedro Nobre with first-round punches to retain the Titan Fighting Championship flyweight title in the Titan 43 main event on Saturday at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida. Nobre succumbed to blows 1:26 into Round 1.
Torres elected to forgo the feeling-out process and instead drew the Brazilian into a series of dangerous standup exchanges. Nobre did well with body-head combinations but only for a short time. Torres floored him with an overhand right, swarmed when he returned to his feet and sent him to the canvas again with a ringing right uppercut.
