Jorge Masvidal was among several fighters defending Dustin Poirier after Colby Covington released footage of a sparring session just four days before Poirier’s UFC 264 showdown with Conor McGregor.
Covington, a former teammate of Poirier and Masvidal at American Top Team, repeatedly teased that he had damning footage of the UFC lightweight and released it on Tuesday, prompting a quick response from Masvidal.
Why don’t you post the video of @DustinPoirier dropping you with a body shot? Always hating on people with power #supernecessary

According to Ariel Helwani, Masvidal is targeting a showdown with Covington or Nick Diaz for his next fight after suffering his first UFC knockout loss in a title rematch against champ Kamaru Usman at UFC 261.
