The long-time UFC lightweight, and now welterweight has been getting something he wasn’t fully getting before with old UFC regimen – big name and ranked opponents. Just last week, Masvidal was booked to fight top-5 welterweight and fan favorite fighter Donald Cerrone at UFC on FOX 23, and said it was the new UFC owner, Ari Emanuel, who hooked it up with the high-profile fight.
“They gave me the fight, and I want to send a shout out to Ari real quick because he made this possible as well,” Masvidal told Ariel Helwani on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour.
