Jorge Masvidal explains Trump support: ‘He’s actually helping out my people’

Jorge Masvidal’s rise to MMA stardom has been a long, slow road. The UFC’s ‘BMF’ champion has competed for Sengoku, Bellator, and even once fought for the Strikeforce lightweight title. But it wasn’t really until his run of KO wins in 2019 that he moved from longtime action-fighter to a major PPV selling talent for the UFC.

Along the way, ‘Gamebred’ has had a lot of time to build his image in the public sphere. He’s picked up a sponsorship from mezcal brand, Recuerdo. He’s made it to the cover of the latest EA Sports UFC game, and he’s built a reputation as a fighter who won’t back down from a confrontation, or hesitate to speak his mind.
