LOS ANGELES -- Last week, the Nevada Athletic Commission named veteran referee John McCarthy as the third man in the Octagon for the UFC 200 main event between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones at UFC 200.
The assignment was made over the objections of Jones' camp. And while the man many consider the world's best pound-for-pound fighter doesn't want to make public his specific reasons for his concerns, Jones has doubled down on the notion he doesn't want McCarthy officiating the July 9 fight in Las Vegas.
"I would prefer any other referee but him," Jones said Tuesday.
