Jon Jones doesn’t see a showdown with Israel Adesanya happening anytime soon — if at all.
Last week, the reigning light heavyweight champion issued a stern warning to Adesanya after the Nigerian-born Kiwi expressed interest in a bout against “Bones” in 2021.
“Keep convincing yourself that one day you’ll be ready to face a boss like me,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “I’ll keep convincing myself that when that day comes, I will my you my absolute bitch.”
Adesanya authored the most impressive performance of his career at UFC 243 on Saturday night, as he unified the middleweight bouts with a second-round technical knockout victory over Robert Whittaker in Melbourne.
