Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones stood in front of a judge on Tuesday morning in Albuquerque. Jones was having a plea hearing for his hit-and-run incident earlier this year which left a pregnant woman, Vanessa Sonnenberg, injured.
When Jones faced the judge, he plead guilty.
The judge for the case gave Jones a provisional discharge of the felony charge and sentenced Jones to 18 months of supervised probation. As the judge said, Jones was very lucky to avoid jail time.
During the hearing, Jones apologized to his fans, Miss Sonnenberg and the court.
Jones was very apologetic and owned up to his actions which likely played a large part in the lenient ruling by the judge.
