Johny Hendricks has had major issues making the welterweight limit over the last couple of years. This is no secret. So when he wasn’t able to hit 171 again in a recent bout with Neil Magny, his run in that division was over. Now he’ll look for a fresh start at middleweight when he takes on former Bellator champ Hector Lombard at UFC Halifax next month.
Hendricks (17-6, 12-6 UFC) has lost three bouts in a row, with the most recent coming to Magny in a close decision at UFC 207 last month. Lombard (34-6-1, 2 NC, 3-4, 1 NC UFC) who had a short run at welterweight before coming back to 185 for his last bout, has lost two in a row to Magny and Dan Henderson.
