Brazilian featherweight “Macapa” and Colombian flyweight “Azul” have signed new long-term deals with Bellator, promotion officials told MMA Fighting on Monday.
Teixeira (21-3-2) came close to earning a shot at the 145-pound championship in Bellator before losing back-to-back fights to Daniel Weichel and Pat Curran. “Macapa” was 9-1 with four Bellator wins prior to his losing skid.
Lara (7-1) successfully debuted in the Bellator cage in December, submitting Lena Ovchynnikova with a minute left in the final round at Bellator 190 in Italy. The 23-year-old talent scored finishes in six of her seven professional wins.
