John Dodson calls out Thomas Almeida for UFC bantamweight return

Too soon?

After falling short in two separate attempts to capture the 125-pound crown, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight No. 1 contender, John Dodson, is returning to the bantamweight division (as promised).

And "The Magician" is not looking for an easy fight.

"John Dodson is moving up from flyweight to bantamweight," Ariel Helwani told UFC Tonight. "I spoke to his manager and he told me they called up UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby and said, 'We want Thomas Almeida.' That's the fight Dodson wants to return to the bantamweight division with."

The 24-year-old Almeida -- a perfect 20-0 -- is one of the division's brightest prospects, having recently starched Anthony Birchak in Brazil (watch it).
