Joe Silva is now rich, will retire as UFC matchmaker

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was sold to WME | IMG earlier this year for a whopping $4.2 billion, making rich folks like promotion president Dana White and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta even richer. While White is contracted to stick around for another five years, Fertitta will set sail for new territories.

And he's not the only one.

UFC matchmaker Joe Silva, who also banked beaucoup bucks in the sale, is expected to hang up his gloves by the end of the year. That's according to a report from MMA Junkie, which indicates the motivating factor was money, not discontent.
