A fight between two top women’s strawweights will headline UFC on ESPN+ 19 on October 12th, as Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson have verbally agreed to fight each other on the card.
ESPN first reported the news on Wednesday. The fight will mark former strawweight champion Jedrzejczyk’s return to 115-pounds after missing out on flyweight gold in her last fight against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 231.
Jedrzejczyk (15-3) has just one win in her last four fights. Her strawweight title run in which she successfully defended her belt five times came to an end at UFC 217 when she was knocked out by Rose Namajunas.
