Less than a month after Jessica Aguilar confirmed her release from World Series of Fighting, the highly regarded women's strawweight contender (and former WSOF champion) has finally made her way to the UFC. Aguilar will make her debut against Brazil's Claudia Gadelha at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro on August 1st. Combate first reported the contest and it has since been confirmed by MMA Fighting.
Aguilar (19-4) has won her last 10 fights since losing a Bellator tournament semifinal to Zoila Gurgel in 2010. "JAG" won the inaugural WSOF women's strawweight title by beating Alida Gray by submission early last year, then followed it up with a pair of decision wins over Emi Fujino and Kalindra Faria.
