Jeremy Stephens may have 30 bouts’ UFC experience to his credit, but that doesn’t mean he is above learning from new training partners.
Stephens revealed on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show that he spent about a month training with top lightweight contender Tony Ferguson in Big Bear Lake, Calif., as he prepared for his headlining bout against Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 159 on Saturday.
“Lil Heathen” connected with Ferguson through his management, and having another opportunity to train at altitude prior to his trip to Mexico City was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.
